Through Our Exceptional People, We Deliver Extraordinary Care

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is a 489-bed, acute-care hospital in West St. Louis County, offering a full continuum of medical and surgical services as well as adult and pediatric 24-hour emergency services. We are leaders in open-heart surgery, operate a nationally recognized cancer care program, and offer comprehensive orthopedic, gastrointestinal and women’s health services.

The cancer program at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is one of only 63 cancer programs in community hospitals nationwide designated as a Community Clinical Oncology Program by the National Cancer Institute. This means our physicians participate in the most recent advances in cancer prevention, treatment and clinical trials.

Heart Center -- Among the best in Missouri

Our heart program is nationally recognized for excellence in cardiac surgery, cardiac care and stroke care.  We rank No. 2 among Missouri hospitals for cardiac surgery and cardiac care, and No. 2 in the state for stroke care. More than 14,000 heart procedures have been performed at Missouri Baptist Medical Center since its heart surgery program was established in 1984 – more procedures than any other hospital in St. Louis County.

Gastrointestinal/Digestive Diseases Center

Missouri Baptist Medical Center ranks among Missouri's top hospitals in this area of care. Our services include the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal, gastric, intestinal, colorectal, liver and pancreatic cancers. We also diagnose and treat liver diseases and diseases related to food absorption as well as swallowing disorders.

Orthopedics and Spine Center

The orthopedics and neurology team at Missouri Baptist Medical Center specializes in the care of bone and joint disorders, spine injuries and musculoskeletal diseases. The team includes orthopedic surgeons, neurologists and neurosurgeons. Rheumatologists, plastic surgeons and specially trained nurses, therapists and support staff complete a care team that offers a wide range of prevention and treatment options.

Women's Health Center -- From childbirth to advanced care

Missouri Baptist Medical Center delivers one out of every six babies born in the greater St. Louis area, providing expectant mothers the assurance of top medical expertise in every phase of pregnancy and delivery. Pediatric specialists, nurses and other healthcare professionals from St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the Washington University School of Medicine staff the Special Care Nursery.

Our Breast HealthCare Center screens nearly 12,000 women each year.  In late 2007, we expanded our screening capacity by 25 percent, adding a fourth digital screening and diagnostic suite, and upgrading existing computer-aided digital diagnostic system to help detect breast cancer in its earliest stages. Digital mammography provides one of the most advanced imaging technologies available.
