If you are pregnant, it’s never too early to start thinking about finding your baby's pediatrician. After you give birth, your obstetrician no longer oversees the care of your baby. In fact, your baby's pediatrician will be the one to examine your baby while you are in the hospital. If immediate care is required, one of our hospital's pediatricians or pediatric specialists may examine your baby. When you are deciding where you want to deliver, it's important to consider the quality of care that these medical professionals provide.

As a member of BJC HealthCare, Missouri Baptist Medical Center shares an important connection with St. Louis Children’s Hospital, one of the top pediatric hospitals in the U.S.
Neonatologists and Pediatricians On-Site
St. Louis Children’s Hospital/Washington University neonatologists and pediatricians are available around the clock and attend all high-risk or complicated deliveries, providing superior, quality care.
Special Care Level II Nursery
Missouri Baptist has a Special Care Level II Nursery that provides comprehensive care to high-risk newborns. If your baby requires more intensive care, we provide immediate, special transportation to St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Children's Hospital ER
As your baby grows, it’s also comforting to know that our hospital's Emergency Department has a dedicated pediatric unit. In 2007, we partnered with St. Louis Children's Hospital and opened a full-size ER just for children. St. Louis Children's Hospital/Washington University pediatricians and specially-trained pediatric nurses staff this unique unit, which includes nine emergency beds, plus six more for overnight stays. Every room has a bright, nautical theme to put your child -- and you -- more at ease.
Have you chosen your pediatrician yet? Now’s the time. Call us today, and we’ll help you find the physician who meets your personal preferences, location and hours.
