Our Cancer Support Center at MoBap's Cancer Center focuses on cancer diagnosis, treatment, emotional support and community resources. Its primary mission is to empower patients, family members and the general public by providing information about cancer in a quiet, comfortable environment.
Located in the Cancer Center's waiting room, our Cancer Support Center is staffed by specialists and trained volunteers, who are former cancer patients or have experienced cancer within their families. This provides the visitor an ally who can truly relate to feelings about cancer and uncertainty about the future. Resources available include brochures and a lending library of books, CDs and DVDs about family coping, dealing with side effects of treatment and practical suggestions for daily living.
Hours of operation:
9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday and Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Our Cancer Support Center provides free wigs, turbans and samples of nutritional supplements to individuals undergoing cancer therapy. An American Cancer Society sponsored program, “Look Good, Feel Better,” is presented monthly for women undergoing treatment for cancer.
In addition, complementary music, pet/touch, massage, and art therapies are coordinated through the Cancer Center for patients and family members.
