Volunteering at MoBap Hospital

Volunteer

Volunteers play an important role on the Missouri Baptist Medical Center campus. They help us extend our mission of service to our community as well as each other and help promote an environment of emotional, spiritual and physical well-being. We welcome you as a volunteer to help create a positive health care environment for individuals seeking exceptional patient satisfaction.

Missouri Baptist Medical Center volunteers are friendly, kind, enthusiastic people interested in sharing a few hours each week on our campus. They are educated professionals who come from varied backgrounds and have multiple interests. Our volunteers include:

  • St. Louis residents, specifically those in the west county communities near the hospital
  • Retired medical professionals
  • Students completing high school service projects
  • College students seeking ways to explore health care opportunities
  • Practicum, intern and pre-med students.

Junior Volunteers

Missouri Baptist Medical Center welcomes and encourages junior volunteers to share their attention, talents and positive energy. Upon completion of the junior volunteer application and successful interview process, placement is evaluated and approved. The minimum age for a junior volunteer is 16.

We welcome you to be a part of something positive by helping to create an exceptional experience for those seeking health care at Missouri Baptist Medical Center.

The Gift of Giving Back

For several years, neighbors and best friends Jean and Joyce have volunteered at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MoBap) gift shop. “We’ve met amazing people. Sometimes, it’s a grandparent who is over the moon about a new baby or someone who is going home after an extended stay. Other times, it might be a family member whose loved one is struggling,” Joyce says.

Looking forward to resuming their active lifestyle in 2022, Connie and Arlin have two trips planned early in the year. Connie said that her heart surgery has given her a new lease on life. Lung Cancer Screening Results in Early Detection

Michael, a 51-year-old business owner, was a one-pack-a-day cigarette smoker for 30 years who quit in 2017. As someone who enjoyed good health, Michael never worried about his lungs. However, chronic shoulder pain that he attributed to over-exercising and weightlifting began to bother him. On a whim, Michael Googled "causes of shoulder pain" and was surprised when lung cancer came up in the search result.

Protecting the Front Line
