Student Volunteers
Volunteering at Missouri Baptist Medical Center can provide valuable insight and experience for students interested in a variety of health related careers. Our program tries to match students with their interests at the same time fulfilling a volunteer request from our many departments.
College Students: We can accommodate college students during the academic year and also during the summer program. College students must make a minimum commitment of 60 service hours or four months of service.
High School Service Projects: Can be one to three weeks during a particular month, chosen by the school, during the school day.
Summer Program: Applications for the summer program may be submitted from January 1 through April 30. Summer placements are based on availability. The summer program begins in early June with an orientation; students are required to provide 8 weeks of service during the summer.
Each volunteer must complete:
- Online application and reference forms
- Current immunization record
- TB test (available at hospital)
- Background check (if 18 or older)
- Personal Interview
We make every effort to accommodate a student volunteer’s schedule. However, dependability is extremely important. Patients, families and staff members depend on volunteers to carry out their assignments. A volunteer commitment should not be made lightly. For more information call 314-996-5146.
