Missouri Baptist operates a full-service laboratory that provides testing support for both inpatient and outpatient platforms. More than 2 million tests are performed annually. The laboratory at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), The Joint Commission (TJC), and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).
Our services are provided within a professional environment that is patient and physician focused. Under the direction of nine board-certified pathologists, testing is performed by highly trained and skilled clinical laboratory scientists who provide extensive knowledge and experience to help manage patient care. The laboratory at Missouri Baptist Medical Center provides convenient, local access to STAT and routine laboratory testing 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The laboratory at Missouri Baptist ensures the continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient testing. Ongoing implementation of relevant test strategies specific to the needs of the community and providers is a top priority. The laboratory at Missouri Baptist provides testing support for all areas of the hospital, as well as multiple outpatient laboratory draw centers. Many physician offices also choose to send their specimens to the laboratory at Missouri Baptist for high quality laboratory testing.

Where is the outpatient lab located at Missouri Baptist Medical Center?
The outpatient laboratory is located just inside the Main Entrance. Complimentary valet service is offered at this entrance.

Do you take appointments for lab draws?
We do not take appointments for lab draws. Patients are seen in the order in which they arrive.
What will my insurance cover?
BJC is covered as in-network with many health insurance plans. Please contact your insurance provider before scheduling your test to make sure you are covered. After the test, we will submit claims to your insurance company.
How do I obtain my lab results?
To obtain your results:
- Contact the provider who requested the laboratory testing;
- Contact Medical Records to obtain a copy of your lab results at 314-996-5111; or
- Sign up for MyChart at the time of your draw and you will be able to log into the site to view your results at https://www.bjc.org/mychart
What should I bring to my lab draw?
Please bring your physician orders, a current photo ID (driver’s license, military ID, passport) and your insurance card. Physician orders can also be faxed electronically to 314-996-4261.
I have questions regarding my laboratory bill, who can I contact with questions?
For questions regarding your laboratory bill, please call the number listed on the bill or contact laboratory customer service at 314-996-4522. For pathology billing questions, please contact Parkway Pathology at 855-696-9618.
How should I prepare for my visit?
Before visiting the lab for a blood draw, be sure to discuss your lab testing and address any questions/concerns with your provider. Certain tests require special preparation to ensure the most accurate results.
I received a 24-hour urine collection kit. How do I start this urine collection?
Your healthcare provider wants you to collect a 24 hour urine sample for testing as part of your health care. How long does it take to get lab test results?

Are there any dietary restrictions I should be aware of before my blood is collected? What is fasting?
To ensure the most accurate results, certain blood tests require you abstain from food or drink except for water, which is called a “fast,” for 8 to 12 hours before your blood collection. You should be informed in advance by your provider of any food/medication restriction prior to your blood draw.
