Alissa Nicks, founder of Alissa’s Hope, and Dan Schultz, a volunteer with Alissa’s Hope, continued the charity's tradition of providing funds for screenings that can save lives, delivering checks to help provide lung cancer and breast cancer screenings to people who need financial assistance.
For the fourth year, the charity donated funds to the Missouri Baptist Breast HealthCare Center to provide free breast screenings, diagnostics, ultrasounds and biopsies to uninsured and underinsured women, especially under age 45, who are not covered by other grants.
The duo also presented a gift of $5,000 to provide lung cancer screenings for patients who need financial assistance. Missouri Baptist’s Lung Cancer Screening Program has been named a Screening Center of Excellence by the Lung Cancer Alliance. A low-radiation-dose CT scan can detect lung cancer at its earliest stages.
