The Nancy A. Ross Awards

Nancy Ross Nursing Award

Each year, Missouri Baptist Medical Center presents awards recognizing nursing excellence. Established over 20 years ago through a generous donation by Don Ross to honor his wife, Nancy, a retired pediatric nurse, and “the amazing nurses at MoBap,” these awards have continued to grow in number over the years. The awards acknowledge nurses of all experience levels and across various categories, including nurse of the year, preceptor of the year and rookie of the year.

To further support nursing excellence, in addition to establishing the Nancy A. Ross Nursing Awards Endowment, the Rosses donated $1 million through the Missouri Baptist Healthcare Foundation to create the Nancy A. Ross Chief Nursing Executive Endowment.

“This endowment under the leadership of the Chief Nursing Executive enables the continuing education and professional growth for all nurses at Missouri Baptist, which is an essential component for MoBap’s Magnet®-designated status,” says Don.

The Importance of Endowments

An endowment is a commitment to excellence and an investment in the future. At Missouri Baptist Medical Center, endowed funds enable dedicated health care teams to advance patient care and professional growth. These endowments ensure resources are available for continuous education and innovation, directly benefiting patients and their families. With the support of endowed funds, the foundation can empower caregivers and uphold a standard of compassionate, state-of-the-art care that strengthens the community for future generations.

To learn more about how to establish an endowment at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, please call Deborah Kersting, Foundation Director, at 314-996-5054.
