The newly established Anne G. Perry, EdD, MSN, RN, FAAN, Excellence in Nursing Practice Award at Missouri Baptist Medical Center honors the legacy of Anne Perry. Created by her co-author and friend Patricia Potter, PhD, RN, FAAN, this award celebrates Anne’s distinguished career and commitment to nursing excellence.

“This award honors Anne through the excellence it seeks to promote in nursing and upholds the high standards she championed throughout her career,” Patricia says.

The award’s first recipient, Lawrence Tarbox, BSN, RN, RRT, exemplifies the qualities Anne valued. While caring for Anne at MoBap, Lawrence’s background as a nurse and respiratory therapist and his patient centered approach left a lasting impact. Both Patricia and Anne admired his knowledge, compassion and responsiveness.

Following the presentation of the first award, Patricia established this award as an endowment, a lasting gift that will honor Anne’s memory and support nurses for generations to come.

The Importance of Endowments

An endowment is a commitment to excellence and an investment in the future. At Missouri Baptist Medical Center, endowed funds enable dedicated health care teams to advance patient care and professional growth. These endowments ensure resources are available for continuous education and innovation, directly benefiting patients and their families. With the support of endowed funds, the foundation can empower caregivers and uphold a standard of compassionate, state-of-the-art care that strengthens the community for future generations.

To learn more about how to establish an endowment at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, please call Deborah Kersting, Foundation Director, at 314-996-5054.
