Every year, U.S. New and World Report comprises a list of the hospitals, and Missouri Baptist continually ranks among the best. We are listed second best in Saint Louis (behind our sister hospital Barnes-Jewish Hospital). We are ranked in eight high-performing specialties: cardiology, diabetes, gastroenterology, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology, orthopedics, and pulmonology.
HealthGrades reviews hospital outcomes and gives hospitals zero to five stars. MoBap achieved five stars in heart failure, heart attack, stroke, respiratory failure, pulmonary care, pneumonia, bowel obstruction, gastrointestinal bleed, gastrointestinal surgeries and procedures, and sepsis. HealthGrades also ranks specialties as a “100 Best,” and MoBap earned that seal in five specialties: critical care, gastrointestinal care, stroke care, general surgery, and pulmonary care. They also give awards for clinical excellence. MoBap has earned the Excellence Award in Patient Safety and the Distinguished Hospital Award in Clinical Excellence six times in the past seven years.
Thomson Reuters uses independent and objective research to identify their “100 Top Hospitals” awards. MoBap received this honor for three consecutive years, 2009-2011.
The Joint Commission conducts an accreditation survey of Missouri Baptist Medical Center to evaluate our compliance with the nationally established Joint Commission standards. We continue to earn the Gold Seal for National Quality Approval.
